Breakout: Remastered - Devlog Episode 1

Hello,

Solomon here, this is the first episode of my devlog of breakout: remastered. I really hope you will enjoy your time reading this post

Welcome to my first devlog of breakout: remastered. The game was inspired by the original and famous arcade videogame - breakout. The breakout game begins with eight rows of bricks, with every two rows different kinds of color. The color order from the bottom up is yellow, green, orange, and red. Using a single ball, the player must knock down as many bricks as possible by using the walls and/or the paddle below to hit the ball against the bricks and eliminate them. If the player's paddle misses the ball's rebound, they will lose a turn. The player has three turns to try to clear two screens of bricks. Yellow bricks earn one point each, green bricks earn three points, orange bricks earn five points and the top-level red bricks score seven points each. The paddle shrinks to one-half its size after the ball has broken through the red row and hit the upper wall. Ball speed increases at specific intervals: after four hits, after twelve hits, and after making contact with the orange and red rows.

The breakout remastered, is similar except for the UI, the blocks being only a set of colors that when destroyed change and tons of power-ups.  The game will feature multiplayer - offline/online very soon. The other difference being the fact that a player playing breakout can only achieve is 896, while in my game the score can increase if the player manages to hit a very special block that is meant to be hard and undefeatable and can even turn invisible.

The game was first developed in unreal engine 4 and then disconnected due to some problems. The game was then again born when it came back to development on Gdevelop. The first version was launched on this platform, later on - the development of the game continued and version 2 came into existence (The version your playing).

I hope to develop it further, with hopes of multiplayer and leaderboard access. The full version of the video game will come after 3-7 months and will be available on Mac, Windows, Linux, Android, and hopefully IOS. if you would like to support this video game, you can do so on my Patreon. Thank You, hope to see you on my devlog
